WINGS' ELIUK WINS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
March 9, 1999

Philadelphia Wings goaltender Dallas Eliuk was named today as the National Lacrosse League Player of the Week, edging out teammate Jake Bergey and Mark Millon of the New York Saints for the award.

Eliuk held the visiting Syracuse Smash to just six goals this past Saturday night, the lowest one-game total in the NLL this season. The 34-year old stopped 45 of 51 shots and held the visitors scoreless in both the first and third quarters. He also picked up 12 loose balls in the Wings’ 15-6 triumph which avenged a loss at Syracuse in January.

The honor is the fourth of Eliuk’s career. He and the Wings host first place Baltimore this Saturday night.

Bergey, twice a Player of the Week this season, was Co-Game MVP with Eliuk on Saturday night. The second year pro had three goals and five assists. Millon also had eight points (5+3) in New York’s 13-12 win at Buffalo on Saturday night, when he was named that game’s MVP.
