Wings' fourth-quarter surge buries Thunder (The Outsider's Guide)
Wings, led by Bergey, rally past Thunder, 16-13 (Philadelphia Inquirer)
On a night when the tenth anniversary of the first Wings championship team was honored, the fans witnessed "Jake Bergey Night" as Philadelphia’s second year forward poured in five goals and six assists to give his team its third straight victory, 16-13 over Baltimore. The win avenged an 18-17 Thunder win over the Wings six weeks ago at Baltimore Arena in a rematch of last year’s NLL Championship.
Baltimore, losers of their second in a row, fell to 6-3 and saw their first place lead trimmed to a half game. Philadelphia raised their record to 4-5.
The Wings also got six points each from Kevin Finneran (two goals, four assists) and Tom Marechek (3+3). The Thunder were led offensively by Joe Hiltz’s seven points (3+4). Bergey was the Game MVP. A crowd of 16,398 was on hand this evening at the First Union Center.
