Wings Acquire Pollard, Eliuk Appeal Finalized
The Philadelphia Wings, of the National Lacrosse League, today acquired Hamilton Pollard from the Albany Attack in exchange for the Wings sixth round 2000 NLL Entry Draft pick, it was announced today by General Manager Steve Govett.
Pollard, the 6 3, 215-pound rookie defensive specialist, played in one game for Albany, picking up four penalty minutes. The Pennsylvania State University graduate was selected in the fifth round of the NLL 1999 Entry Draft and has played for the United States World Cup Team. Pollard is a Wilmington, DE native where he is the President of Black Banana, Ltd. Retail Store, a lacrosse supply retailer.
Today is the last day of NLL trading during the regular season, ending officially at 5pm.
In other news, Wings management heard the final decision on
the appeal of All-Pro goalie Dallas Eliuk's two-game suspension
and fine for a slashing incident in the February 26 game against
Pittsburgh. Eliuk will sit for his second game, against Toronto
this week, however the monetary fine levied against him has been
lifted by the league.
