Default Coaches

http://www.nllinsider.com/2008/02/22...oach/#more-671
Did anyone ever think that we would possibly run out of quality coaches?
Here's a few names Wayne Colley, Pete Vipond, John Grant sr and Paul St John - I think that equals something like 15 Mann cups!
Any other choices?

Paul Dalmonte, ex-Vancouver Ravens and Burnaby Jr. Lakers coach.
Rod Jensen, Coquitlam Adanacs Sr. A Coach (and formerly with the Mammoth, if I'm not mistaken... what happened there?)
Dave Lough, former Burnaby Jr. Lakers Coach.

John Tavares in the future perhaps.

Plus the huge pool of assistant coaches from around the league to choose from (I don't know all of them, but there must be some good ones).

There are plenty of guys out there. Just because they haven't had NLL head coaching experience doesn't mean they're not capable of doing it.

There seems to be a very definite leaning in the NLL toward OLA coaches. I think SJ is the only team with a coach from the west.

Barry Powless?

If the MILL title in 1995 can't cut it, his Hollywood credentials have got to be worth something!

Well, Chris Hall is from Victoria I believe, though he's not an active coach obviously.

It's not really surprising that most of the coaches are from the east, since there is more collective lacrosse knowledge there than in BC, but we certainly have our share of good coaches.

Besides, judging by the abysmal scouting and drafting of western players in the last 3 seasons (see: Iannucci, Shewchuk, Conway), the NLL could use a few more coaches from out west.
