Default Ref evaluation from players

Pretty in-depth stuff here. Amazing how anti-refs the players are. But I guess that's probably normal among pro athletes.

The best quote in the article was "If I could throw a ball at a ref and not get suspended it would be Fox for sure.” on Bill Fox

That says it all.

Very interesting read!

Of course if you're a ref, you don't care what the players think.....you only care what your boss thinks.

It might be interesting to know which players participated (not by name but which teams/how many per/total number)....as that could certainly affect the numbers.

And...perhaps...another question? If these guys don't like the way the refs are doing their job...how would they suggest the league improve things? A reasonably anonymous poll might be a good place to make some constructive suggestions.

EEL awards are voted on by players as well as friends and the last 3 years it has been Chet #1 and Lum #2. Now since IL seems to have a strong west coast lean like EEL has an east I can see this being a valid result with Lum being number 1

I know Sutton ref's in the MLL, do a lot of the other NLL guys ref in OLA/WLA in the summer? Do they still suck, or are the rules/calls a little more "reasonable"?

well sutton is in the group that are outdoor refs which is likely why he sucks.

OLA is a different animal all together uo ref
only two guys no goal lights smaller rinks so refs are always in the way. It is hard not to suck in the OLA

Interesting to see where that number would have gone if voting in the negative numbers were included?

I still don't understand why Todd Lorenz can't put his arm up properly. He puts his arm in the air and always makes a fist. Every other official has their fingers straight with he thumb tucked at the side.
