PHILADELPHIA WINGS: Signed Tony McDevitt and Steve Grossi to one-year contracts. Released Jay Preece.


I know it happened 11 days ago....was occupied with a lil thing called a wedding

Shame to see him go, great guy, he never did get a full chance. How can you prove yourself by only getting about 7 minutes of playing time in a season??? Hopefully he will get a chance on a young team, Boston maybe.

it wouldnt surprise me to see Jay back in Toronto. But, I think he may get a shot out west with Colorado.

You nailed it on the head. He never got the chance. He's due! Whatever team he goes to let's hope they let him play-finally. Everybody deserves a chance!

If he is the backup behind Gee Nash and Chris Levis, he probably won't be making the trip to Philly, correct?

I dunno. Tough to argue whether one team's third is that much better than anothers. Preece is a decent goalie, but I'd have a hard time claiming he's a whole bunch better than either Rose or Atwood.

I'm not too sure about Rose, haven't seen him in the big nets... but he's better than Attwood in my opinion.

Levis, a six-year NLL veteran, played three seasons in Colorado before signing a free agent contract with Edmonton this week.The Edmonton Rush signed free agent goaltender Chris Levis to a two-year contract this week. The 32-year-old native of Windsor, Ontario, has played the previous three seasons in Colorado, sharing duties with Gee Nash. In 2008, Levis compiled a 10.05 goals-against average along with a .789 save-percentage in over 300 minutes of action -- the second-highest total minutes of his career.

Levis joins veteran netminders Steve Dietrich and Curtis Palidwor, as well as rookie Brandon Atherton on the Rush training camp roster.

"We are excited to have Chris as part of the Rush. Chris brings experience and knowledge of what it takes to win at this level." said Rush GM/Head Coach Bob Hamley.

We have 3 Goalies Glen....you forgot old reliable....TC. as far as Jay keeping clothes on.....he had no problem walking around after practices in just the underarmour in front of everyone, so we could have the stripping trio goalies.
