Default Benesch and Suddons Traded

Gone to Edmonton for a first rounder(Portland's and a Second rounder)

Done deal.... oh boy does Toronto ever have a lot left to show for Colin Doyle now!

doyle, a number one player for most any team in the league and go to franchise man for a ROY who had potential......

that player, plus suddons, gone for a middle of the back first rounder, and second rounder who will end up on the practice roster most likely.

wow.

the Toronto Rock organization is quickly becomming the laughing stock of the league when it comes to trades.

So Sudsy and Ryan will be fly-ins for a western team, a reversal of the old Rock days when Stroup, Hearn and Coyle would fly to Toronto...

makes the Feb.7th game a little more interesting.

Personally I would still like to see P. Coyle as a fly in.

The teams best defender and the guy that was 3rd in scoring the last time they bothered to play him ... for 2 draft picks? Really?

Um, yeah, no comment ...

I'm not convinced Suddons was their best defender, I like Woods better but he was #2 or #3.
Benesch is kind of small and never should have been traded for Doyle in the first place ... but this is an awful move.
They don't even get Edmonton's pick? Edmonton should be abottom team, Portland made the finals. THat pick will be garbage.
Hilarious. After some really good moves, the Rock goes back into the toilet.

I'm sorry to see Suddons go! I always thought he was their steadiest defender.

The Rush stole these two players for virtually nothing, good job by Hamley.

Great work Kloepfer you have done it again.

Suddons was the most reliable. Rarely got beat, few penalties and never out of position. It is too bad I cannot say the same for the bigger named defenders.

Geez, what a fleecing. You'd have hoped they could at least turn Benesch into Plunkett and Suddons into like an NLL-ready warm body. As a pair, shouldn't have settled for less than Plunkett, warm body, plus first round draft pick.

Like the first guy says - What's to show for Doyle now.

I guess after all the shuffling, you have Cam Woods, Chad Thompson and some medium grade picks. I like Woods, but he sure ain't worth an 80-100 point perrenial MVP candidate.

I'm starting to agree that ego is killing this franchise.
Doyle had too big a personality, so he was dumped.
Clark claims he had no problems with Benesch and "loved the kid," but yet he never played and got traded for a bottom four pick.

Suddons wouldn't sign and gets shipped out for a second rounder.
You all may be right about Suddons, I don't think I was watching him close enough.
Woods has his moments but probably is more of a name guy like Lough than a results guy, if that makes sense.

Either way, I think this is the second worst trade in Rock history.

Suddons was paired up against the other teams top threat ... and almost always contained them very well ... sure they got their points, but you rarely saw the top players come into Toronto and light us up ... guys like Derks or Crosbie had breakout games here (more points than their average) more often than guys like Grant or Tavares (usually well under their average)

Marshall did a good job on Steenhuis last weekend ... it just would have been nice to keep 2 guys like that ... one on Steenhuis, one on Tavares, etc ...

Sudsy will be missed

It is a nothing trade.
They dumped two players that hadn't played this year for "Nothing".

Management needs to wake up.

I'm glad I did not renew my seats this year

Friggin brutal.....I actually hoped that I heard the Fan 590 wrong, a first and second round draft pick....I don't give a rat's *** for Kloepfer and I am dumbfounded how this guy keeps his job...

I was hoping this wouldn't happen, but I'm not surprised it did. The best choice I've made, sports wise, is to boycott the Rock. Some very good off-season moves have been undone by utter stupidity. Surprise, surprise.

I'm actually wondering if the best thing for this team is for the Rock to finish 1-15, forcing Watters to put the boots to Clark, Kloepfer, Veltman and anyone else with a role in the dismantling of the team. Enough's enough.

I hate to say it but I knew this would happen all along.
Toronto would **** themselves over royally by thinking Ryan isn't worth anything but draft picks.

WELL GUESS WHAT TORONTO ROCK HEAD OFFICE.
You can kiss this fan goodbye.

PS Anyone know where I can get a good deal on a Rush jersey?

not unexpected. I don't think Kloepfer could have gotten much more given it was obvious he wasn't in TO's immediate plans. I'd love to know the real reasons ebhind all this but I'm not going to hold my breath

as for the original trade for Doyle, hindsight is 20-20. I was sad to see Colin go but was excited about Ryan coming to town.

Oh hell your giving up just like that! Last week we ran into a hot goalie and the bandits D who on the title last year, but our D looked great and watson was good.

whos your team now that your going to give up so easliy.. the craptors or the make believes haha, sure it was only draft picks but have some faith Conn is coming back this week hopefully and im looking forward to what he can provide and the new offence needs time to jell.

and the rest of you negitive fokes it could be worst were not the pucking maple losers nor are we the Craptors who both suck it Up BIGTIME.

and to the person who said to get ride of veltman as coach that is even dumber then the so called trade and team out there would love to have his leadership and knowledge on the bench for thier young players
