Default Traded again

Have traded Gavin Prout and Dean Hill to the Edmonton Rush in exchange for their first round selection in the 2011 Entry Draft and a conditional second round selection in the 2011 or 2010 Entry Draft

per NLL.com

Rochester is stock piling draft choices to ensure they get Cody. They still have an over abundance of forwards so this makes sense.

Im just shocked at the trade... I mean, I have seen Prout in younger day when he played for NY Saints. I knew he would be good player.

But to be traded twice and training camp isnt that far behind, oh man. I dont know what to say.

I guess Edmonton is gotta be stronger for that but still.. they need to beat Calgary. Calgary as we know are defending champs so everyone is going to be gunning for Calgary.

Just shock - never saw this coming. I thought that Hawks would be lethal team with Grant coming back.

Tell me this is a joke!!! ! Please !!!!! Why would you trade Prout? Lucky I cant swear on this, but screw it, lets trade Junior too!! Our Offense couldnt hit the damn net last year! We got nothing back except a 2011 1st rounder. Cody will be in 2010 draft! not the 2011... 2 great moves in the off season, down to 1... let me guess, we are going to do more trading... Just a stupid trade if you ask me, we could have gotten more! maybe like Brodie! Keep your 2011 1st rounder!

Styres just wants to get Cody. Not worth all of this trading if you ask me. But who is to say? Maybe it will all work out?

I'm also left scratching my head following this trade. Prout would have been a great playmaker for the Hawks. Who knows what Cody can bring & you certainly wouldn't want (all the hype aside) an average player in Brodie Merrill. Williams, Grant, Evans, Prout- now that's a scary offensive line-up.

IMHO Prout wouldn't have gotten enough playing time, baring some major injuries, to be an effective playmaker. The more touches he got up top would mean that many fewer for Shawn Williams, especially with Grant and Evans coming back.

So Prout and Merill will be lethal combo for Edmonton such as JT and Mark S (cant spell his last name right) is for Buffalo?!?

This is gonna be interesting combo out in West. Since there will be 5 teams in West, Edmonton sure improve their chance to make the playoff. I cant figure out which team will NOT make the playoff coming out of Western Divison. I do expect Calgary and Colorado into the picture. But, what about Edmonton, Minnesota and Washington... 50-50. So, which team will NOT make the playoff? Gotta be interesting season

Merill is more defensive oriented than Mark Steenhuis is. When Merill scores 50 in a year, then I could see the comparison.

Out of 18 NLL games that I plan to see in upcoming season, its too bad that Edmonton Rush will be the only team that I wont be able to see.

Gosh, with 11 teams in the league, I should see every one of them, if Im going to watch 18 NLL games (16 Orlando Titans and 2 Philadelphia Wings games).

I am not shocked just a lil bit disappointed by this trade...I thought we were that much closer to having the Championship Rattlers team on our K-Hawks lineup...

What is the hawks plan if Cody get hurt prior to next season he will likely play 3 seasons before the hawks can get him on the floor, NCAA, MILL, OLA that is a lot of risk.

Comparing Steinhaus to Merrill is like comparing a Golden Delicious Apple to an apple core. Steinhaus is shorter in stature but bigger than every other facet of Merrills game. No comparison.

I am not surprised by this move at all. I was actually puzzled by the addition of yet another high profile player on "O". At the rate we were going, I was thinking we may be seeing games that were 30+ points per team if we tried to get all of our O players time. No time for any D players.

That is going a little far. I would feel pretty sure saying Brodie is a better defended and loosie machine than sideshow bob. One thing I can say, is that I dislike both of them equally.

Brodie might be a slightly better pure defender but Mark is very strong on D and would be in the top 4 defenders on any team in the NLL
